A New Look at Integration with Node4
How New Look and Node4 transformed integration to deliver scalability and a seamless customer experience.
Winning at E-Commerce
New Look, a leading fashion retailer in the UK and Europe, set out to transform its integration strategy for digital services. To achieve this, the company established a Centre for Enablement (C4E), a hub designed to drive IT operating model shifts and empower speed and agility.
This case study explores how Node4, a trusted partner in the Enterprise Integration Platform (EIP) structure, helped New Look achieve its integration goals by delivering guidance and complex category development work for the Marketplace and Order Management System (OMS) projects.
The Challenge
The retail and consumer goods industry has undergone seismic changes in recent years, driven by the explosive growth of e-commerce and online marketplaces. Today’s consumers are empowered to compare prices, read reviews, and shop from anywhere, creating a fiercely competitive environment where innovation is key.
To stay ahead, New Look recognised the critical role of integration in connecting digital services seamlessly. The company’s strategy focused on:
- Creating a Center for Enablement (C4E) and Enterprise Integration Platform (EIP)
- Introducing reusable patterns, stable development, and cost reduction
- Improving stock availability and eliminating physical separation of replenishment stock
The OMS project was pivotal, enabling a dynamic virtual stock mix down to the SKU level, responsive to in-day demand and designed to prevent lost sales.
Node4 delivered over 50 integrations, enabling New Look to scale across multiple marketplaces.
The Solution
The Marketplace project aimed to integrate New Look’s systems with multiple external retail marketplace providers across the UK and Europe. Node4 played a central role by:
- Providing integration guidance and options
- Delivering Azure-based integration platform
- Deploying over 50 adapters/integrations for marketplace connectivity
- Assurance Principles & Practices
- Azure Integration Services
- High-level and low-level integration architecture
This platform became the foundation for both Marketplace and OMS projects. Node4 also conducted knowledge transfer sessions to ensure ongoing support and maintenance.
Following the Marketplace success, Node4 partnered with New Look on the OMS project, consolidating stock for eComm and retail, and improving “Ways of Working” through collaboration with the C4E and EIP teams.
