Connect VDC offers resilient routing, ensuring reliable access between crucial business components. It serves as a bridge between Node4 services, enhancing reliability by routing traffic from MPLS-based services into Node4’s MPLS backbone and onwards to a Node4 Virtual Data Centre (VDC) instance. This eliminates the need for direct internet connections or site-to-site VPNs.
As a layer-3 service, ConnectVDC provides a routed virtual network through a customer VRF, segmenting routing tables over Node4’s MPLS network. The service is monitored 24x7 by Node4's Network Operation Team and covered by Node4’s Gold Support service. Key benefits include SLA-backed secure access, 24x7 monitoring, performance optimization, minimized downtime, scalability, common architecture, and responsive service.
Use cases include bridging between ConnectMPLS and the VDC, Microsoft Azure ExpressRoute and the VDC, and data centre racks and the VDC. Clients must have Node4 VDC services to use ConnectVDC. Additional MPLS services may be needed for connectivity. A ConnectVDC service is strongly bound to a VDC site, and changes require re-provisioning.
