Warwickshire Police Force
Empowering frontline policing with Node4
The Client
Warwickshire Police is the UK’s smallest county force, with around 1,100 officers and staff. Known for its agility and forward-thinking approach, the force has a mature technology change programme and an in-house PowerApp development team. Already invested in Microsoft’s ecosystem, Warwickshire Police had built several PowerApps prior to this project and maintained a long-standing relationship with Node4 for IT consultancy and tech support.
We worked closely together and Node4’s team became part of our own development team. It was always a two-way conversation, with Node4 on hand to answer queries and guide us during the testing and roll-out stages.
The Challenge
After Brexit, UK police forces lost access to the Schengen Information System (SIS II), a vital source of EU law enforcement intelligence. Warwickshire Police, the UK’s smallest county force, suddenly faced a major operational hurdle: officers could only access INTERPOL’s I 24/7 database through the National Crime Agency or a desktop system at the station. This meant roadside and remote checks were slow, complicated, and often involved multiple steps and radio calls to the control room.
As the deadline approached for all forces to provide mobile access to key data via the International Law Enforcement Alerts Platform (I-LEAP), Warwickshire Police needed a solution that would empower their officers, simplify workflows, and keep communities safe—without breaking the budget.
The Solution
We partnered with Warwickshire Police to co-design and develop a bespoke PowerApp that delivers mobile access to I-24/7 data. Built using Microsoft’s PowerApps platform, the I-LEAP Search Application is the first of its kind—designed specifically for mobile use and tailored to the needs of frontline officers.
Our collaboration was hands-on and responsive.
“We worked closely together and Node4’s team became part of our own development team,” said Nicholas Clarke.
“It was always a two-way conversation, with Node4 on hand to answer queries and guide us during the testing and roll-out stages.”
We also provided on-site support to demo new app functionality, helping to keep the project on track and avoid miscommunication. Post-launch, we continue to offer round-the-clock support.

The Results
The I-LEAP Search Application has transformed how Warwickshire Police officers access critical data.
“The project has been a success because we all shared the same vision and purpose,” said Nicholas Clarke. “The I-LEAP Search Application is fast, and the search results are almost instant. It’s easy and intuitive to use, with a look and feel resembling standard website navigation.”
Officers can now drill down into data via clickable links, helping them fully understand each situation. The app also meets required security standards.
“I think we’ve created something new and unique that could also benefit other police forces,” Clarke added. “Our solution uses a broader Microsoft infrastructure that does come at a cost—but it made sense for us given our previous investment in the PowerApps platform and Microsoft infrastructure.”
Protection starts with a good partnership
The Node4 Difference
For Warwickshire Police, our collaborative approach, deep Microsoft expertise and commitment to responsive support made all the difference.
“There were many instances where it was easier for us if Node4 could demo new app functionality in person rather than try to explain it in an email or on a Teams call. Node4’s team always obliged and made the time to visit us on-site.”
We’re proud to have helped Warwickshire Police meet a critical deadline and empower their officers with mobile access to vital law enforcement data.
