Their operations rely heavily on a Dynamics NAV solution first implemented in 2004. This system runs core processes across the business, including EPOS and customer orders, stock control, finance, admin, and integration with their online store. With thousands of users depending on it daily, the solution is central to Selco’s success.

The Challenge

After years of trying to upgrade their ageing Dynamics NAV system with their previous partner, K3, Selco needed a fresh approach. They were looking for a partner who could not only support their legacy NAV environment but also guide them towards a modern, scalable solution. The goal was to move to Dynamics 365 Business Central without disrupting day-to-day operations, especially in their heavily customised store systems.

The Solution

Selco chose us for our ability to support the existing NAV setup and provide strategic direction. We began with tactical projects to build trust and prove the relationship could work. These included handheld terminals for gap filling and a stock take solution, both delivered successfully.

With confidence growing, we worked with Selco to design a bridge between the old NAV system and Business Central. This allowed head office teams to transition first, with postings from NAV replayed in Business Central. It was a smart way to modernise without overhauling everything at once.

We implemented Continia AP Automation for invoice scanning and matching, and added our nHanced suite to improve workflows and dashboard flexibility. These enhancements brought immediate efficiency gains and laid the groundwork for future improvements.

At the same time, we reimagined the EPOS and store capabilities. Instead of replicating old modifications, we took a ‘standard first’ approach. With thoughtful redesign, we replaced complex customisations with streamlined extensions, making the system easier to maintain and evolve.
